Family Trip 2019

Four nights on a hundred-acre peninsula on Antigua's southeast coast, where two beaches sit a few minutes apart and feel completely different. Mamora Bay is protected and calm, with Hobie Cats, paddleboards and kayaks out on the water. Coco's faces the Atlantic, with more breeze and surf. Between them are six pools, a morning walk up to a lookout above the resort and an activity program that is there when wanted and easy to ignore when not. A stay that asks very little of anyone.

Behind the Route

A late fall school break lined up with grandparents already staying at a favourite Antigua resort, which set both the destination and the four-night length.

Best For A short Caribbean stay where three generations keep separate routines on one property.

My husband's parents had been to the same resort a few times before and were heading down for a longer stay in November. The boys had a late fall break, so the five of us joined them for four nights. They already knew it well and had settled into their routines by the time we arrived, which made it an easy trip to step into.
