Vancouver & Whistler, BC
A winter route to Whistler and Vancouver that pairs mountain skiing with a couple of days in the city. Whistler runs on a classic ski rhythm: first gondola mornings across both mountains, lunch on the hill, après in the walkable village and a hot tub to reset before dinner. Vancouver adds a Canucks game, a slower day downtown and restaurants from a central base. Together, they make for one winter week, while each leg could also stand on its own.
A school-holiday week with good friends, built around skiing in Whistler and a few Vancouver days added at the end for old favourites, a Canucks game and a birthday celebration.
This one started with an invitation. Another family had already booked Whistler for March break and asked if we wanted to join them. Our youngest had the same school break, and it felt like an easy reason to go: skiing with friends, a few days in the village, and a trip that already had some shape before we started planning.
We added Vancouver at the end because I used to live there and still go back often. Those few nights were not really about sightseeing. They were about seeing friends, letting the boys catch a Canucks game, marking my birthday, and spending a little time in a city that still feels connected to our life.
