B&B San Marco

Venice, Italy

City Inn + Guest House
Worth Landing On

One of Venice's last true family-run B&Bs, this is Marco and Alice Scurati's home, and it shows. Rooms furnished with heirloom period pieces overlook a wide canal and the Renaissance façade of the Scuola di San Giorgio degli Schiavoni, placing guests firmly in the quieter, residential rhythm of Castello. Breakfast is taken communally in the shared kitchen. Marco's encyclopedic knowledge of Venice, the silent calli, the markets, the routes tourists never find, is the real amenity. An antidote to postcard Venice.

What It Is

An authentic slice of Venetian home life.

What It Is Not

For anyone expecting hotel services or a polished breakfast.

Worth Landing On

When a well-located B&B in a quieter neighbourhood, with canal views and a price point that leaves room for the rest of the trip, suits over a hotel.
