El Gitano del Mar, 47' Catamaran Sailboat

San Blas Islands, Panama

Beach + Coast Uncommon Stay
Worth Considering

El Gitano Del Mar is a Lagoon 470 catamaran running multi-day sailing charters across Panama's San Blas archipelago. The boat sleeps eight guests across four cabins, two with private bathrooms and two that share. All charters cover onboard accommodation, three meals per day using fresh ingredients, and included beverages. Guests have use of snorkelling gear, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and fishing equipment throughout their stay. Routes wind through remote island anchorages within the San Blas chain. No air conditioning on board. A dedicated captain handles navigation while a hostess manages meals and guest comfort for the full duration of the charter.

What It Is

A private sailboat charter through one of the most intact island chains in the Caribbean.

What It Is Not

A hotel. Approach it as glamping on the water, and size and air conditioning matter more than you might think for a larger group.

Worth Considering

If the San Blas Islands are on the Panama route and a liveaboard suits the group over a land-based lodge.
