Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

Vancouver, Canada

City Hotel Accor Live Limitless Condé Nast Traveler Awards
Worth Considering

Opened in 1939, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is a Châteauesque grand railway hotel in the middle of downtown, its copper-pitched roofline and carved stonework making it one of the most recognizable buildings on the skyline. Rooms carry Art Deco detailing from a recent renovation, and Notch8 Restaurant serves locally sourced cuisine in the glamour of the original lobby. The Fairmont Gold floor adds a hotel-within-a-hotel tier with private lounge access and included breakfast. Vancouver's main shopping, galleries, and Stanley Park are all within easy reach on foot. A hotel that takes its history seriously without being trapped by it.

What It Is

A 1939 railway grand hotel at the centre of downtown, with the bones to prove it.

What It Is Not

Sleek or contemporary. The appeal is the 1939 building and its history.

Worth Considering
