Four Seasons Resort Peninsula Papagayo, Costa Rica

Papagayo Peninsula, Costa Rica

Beach + Coast Resort Michelin Key and Condé Nast Traveler Awards
Worth Considering

Set on an isthmus at the tip of Peninsula Papagayo in Guanacaste, flanked by two beaches and 250 acres of dry tropical forest, this is a resort that rewards those who want more from a holiday than a sun lounger. Howler monkeys, sloths, and iguanas are regular sightings on the grounds. An Arnold Palmer-designed golf course, a surf school, kayak tours through mangroves, ziplining, night hikes, rum tastings, and sound healing sessions fill the activity roster, many of them complimentary. Six restaurants, three pools, and a spa round out the property. Liberia Airport is 40 minutes away.
