Parador de Cádiz

Cádiz, Spain

City and Beach + Coast Hotel
Worth Landing On

Cadiz sits at the end of a narrow peninsula, and the Parador occupies its western edge, between a public park and La Caleta Beach. The building is a 2012 new-build, the most contemporary property in the Paradores chain: glass balconies, marble floors, and Atlantic light from every angle. Rooms face either the ocean or the gardens. The pool deck is open to the sea, with a separate section for children. The restaurant focuses on local seafood, the spa has a full hydrotherapy circuit, and the old town, its cathedral, and the Barrio de La Viña are all within walking distance. For a city this old, the hotel is deliberately modern.

What It Is

A modern, full-facility oceanfront hotel in one of Spain's oldest cities.

What It Is Not

A historic Parador. The building is new and the design is contemporary, not period.

Worth Landing On

On an Andalucía route that reaches the coast, and the priority is a hotel with sea views, a pool, and easy access to the old town on foot.
