Beach + Coast Family Trip March 2015

A week built around one hilltop villa base and a rotation of the island's beaches. Days split between the pool and the sand, with waves big enough for hours of body surfing, a jet ski lap of the island and flyboarding out of Gustavia. Dinners climb from casual pizza to picking a lobster from the tank. St. Barts at a slow pace.

Behind the Route

A family's first-ever villa trip on an island full of villas, with the boys at 9 and 13.

Best For Families after a villa base, with kids young enough to live at the beach and dinners out together.

This was our first villa trip. The boys were nine and thirteen, and we wanted to try something different: plunk down in one nice spot for a week of "living" rather than a hotel. Years ago, as a teenager on a trip with my parents, I had briefly stopped into St. Barts, but I really didn't remember it, so effectively it was a new place for all of us.

Ages in group: Tweens (8-11), Young Teenagers (12-15), and Adults (30-65)
