Jackson Hole, WY
A ski trip in Jackson Hole, where the Tetons set a backdrop that makes even a slow day on the mountain feel worthwhile. In-bounds terrain earns its reputation for serious skiers, with backcountry access for those who want it and intermediate skiing that surprises most people who come expecting otherwise. Off the slopes, a wildlife tour brought bison close, and the town of Jackson has a country cool, with antler arches, wooden walkways and no dress code.
A multigenerational ski week with varying abilities, keeping the group connected through shared lunches and enough on- and off-mountain options.
Jackson Hole is a familiar destination for us, but this trip had a different purpose: bringing my parents for the first time. The structure had to work across ability levels and reconvene easily throughout the day, which shaped everything from where we stayed to how we planned the mountain time.
